Oby Nwabuzor: Real estate, health and social equity
In 2019, Oby Nwabuzor created and founded Envision Growth, a Milwaukee-based real estate development firm focused on creating a positive community impact through urban regeneration. In addition to running Envision Growth, she is currently pursuing her DrPH with a focus on the intersection of economic inclusion, real estate and health & social equity, AND she’s the Director of DEI at Landmark Credit Union.
In this episode of Black Oxygen, Oby discusses her Wisconsin journey, how purpose keeps her in Wisconsin, and how her life as an entrepreneur started with a candy shop in her locker in middle school. Because this season is all about beauty, she also discusses the role of complexion and beauty standards. She reminds us that, “black beauty is more than just physical … it’s our culture.”
